How Telari works

Create and Study with Telari.

Use Create to build courses from prepared material. Use Study to work through courses, receive feedback and keep a progress record.

Create

Create starts from prepared Telari-format material. You can build that material yourself or use an LLM to help prepare it. Telari checks the structure, turns valid material into a course draft, and lets you review and edit it before publishing.

  • Build prepared Telari-format material

    Use this when you already know the course structure and want to prepare the lessons, questions, expected answers and marking guidance yourself.

    Upload the finished course file or ZIP in Create. Pasting the course text is also available.

  • Use an LLM to prepare the material

    Use an LLM chat tool to help plan and draft the same Telari-format material outside Telari.

    Keep working in the chat until the course is ready, then upload its ZIP or course file in Create. Pasting the final text is a fallback.

    Create your course in seven steps

    Follow these steps in ChatGPT, Claude or another LLM.

    1. Open a new LLM chat.

      Use a model that can read an attached text file. Web access is optional.

    2. Give it the Telari instructions.

      Download the single complete runbook, attach it to the chat, then copy the prompt below.

      This is the only Telari instruction file. The authoring chat includes it inside any optional reviewer ZIP.

      Use the Telari webpage instead

      Choose this only when the LLM can open webpages. Paste this prompt without attaching the runbook.

      If the LLM cannot read the attachment
    3. Describe the course.

      Answer the LLM's questions. It should ask one simple question at a time.

      What should I tell it?
      • Topic and intended learners
      • What learners should be able to do
      • Required depth and important exclusions
      • Source files or references
      • Any assessment, accessibility or delivery requirements
    4. Approve the course plan.

      Check the proposed lessons, objectives and scope. Reply with corrections or explicitly approve it.

    5. Approve what will be assessed.

      The LLM writes the teaching first. It then shows you a private list of the terms, concepts and capabilities it recommends assessing. Check the list and proposed depth before questions are created.

      What am I approving?

      You make two short decisions:

      1. Approve or correct what may be assessed and at what depth.
      2. Approve or correct the question types, amount served, workload, scoring and feedback.

      The LLM must tell you how many questions learners will actually receive and whether any assessed capability can be missed. If so, it asks you to approve that sampling separately.

      The LLM may recommend and refine these decisions, but it cannot approve them for you.

    6. Review the questions and final course.

      After your approvals, the LLM adds the questions, model answers and marking criteria, checks its work and asks you to review the complete course.

      Optional extra review

      You may use fresh reviewer chats for extra assurance. The authoring chat prepares each prompt and one ZIP attachment, then guides you through one chat at a time.

      LLM review can catch inconsistencies but cannot certify accuracy or replace educator or subject-matter-expert judgement.

    7. Download and upload the course.

      Ask the LLM for one complete Telari Markdown (.md) file. Upload that file in Create.

      What does Telari check?

      Telari checks the file structure and whether it can be imported. It does not create the course or approve its factual or educational quality.

Other creation routes

  • Create through the Claude connector

    Work with Claude as the planning and drafting workspace while Telari provides the schema, validation and final save action.

    The plan and draft stay in Claude until you explicitly ask Claude to save the final reviewed course to Telari. Saved courses appear in the final Studio review step with a link to the editable draft. Follow the Claude setup instructions first.

  • Use Telari Studio

    Give Studio a prompt, source files, pasted notes or a course brief. Studio drafts a course plan first, then generates an editable course after approval.

    Use this when you want Telari to manage the drafting workflow.

Study

Work through a course, answer in your own words, receive feedback and keep a progress record.

  • Study in Telari

    Open the course in the browser and work through the lessons inside Telari.

    Course, answers, feedback and progress in one place.

  • Study through Claude or another LLM front end

    Some courses can run through an external LLM front end while Telari provides the course structure and progress record.

    Use this only when the course supports that delivery route. For Claude, follow the Claude setup instructions.
